TMA Convinces CMS to Give Harvey-Affected Physicians a Break - 07/20/2023

At TMA's request, CMS announced in December that physicians in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey will not be required to participate in the Quality Payment Program's (QPP's) Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for 2017. Thus, those physicians won't incur a 4-percent Medicare payment cut in 2019.


Low-Cost Counseling Available for Harvey Victims - 01/23/2019

It’s been almost 18 months since Hurricane Harvey battered the Texas coast, but its effects are still being felt, particularly in the mental health of people affected by the storm. Thanks to a grant from Rebuild Texas Fund, the Texas chapter of the National Association of Social Workers is offering free or low-cost counseling services for storm victims.
